History My Way…

started out as a single song to inspire, motivate, and educate one student. Unable to read or write on grade level, this student struggled with instruction and comprehension in the classroom. Because of this inability to focus on the material being presented, his attitude became troublesome. I noticed that this student, although unable to read well, would always recite the words to his favorite hip-hop song. He would constantly beat on his desk, using pens and pencils, in fascinating rhythmic arrangements. In addition to memorizing the lyrics to his favorite song, he had the innate ability to “flow” off the top of his head on any topic I gave him. I concluded that there was nothing wrong with this students’ mind; he was very intelligent. I just had to find a way to reach him, and in a way that he understood.

Objective

I have longed for a way to reach my students in a non-traditional way that they can identify with. This CD gives me the opportunity to relate the message of history combined with the #1 music genre in the world, hip-hop. My objective is to educate, entertain, and empower each listener in a way that has never been done before. You are guaranteed to learn from History My Way!
