The Schott Foundation for Public Education blackboysreport released their 50 State Report on Public Education and Black Males 2010 today. The report finds that while many districts are successfully improving the achievement of black males in the classroom, it also “highlights that the overwhelming majority of U.S. school districts and states are failing to make targeted investments to provide the core resources necessary to extend what works for Black male students.” The report finds, among other things, that the 2007/8 graduation rate of black males was only 47%.
