True Facts
- On average, teachers with masters degrees will earn $8,000 to $10,000 more each year than those with only a bachelors degree.
- Most new teachers believe all good teachers can lead all students to learn, even those from poor families or have uninvolved parents.
- Over 80 % of new teachers feel like their performance compared with what other teachers are doing, is great.
- Unfortunately, many low-income students and children of color face an unfamiliar environment in schools, which often leaves them disengaged. One way to overcome this barrier is to diversify the teaching force by recruiting teachers who are “like” the students they teach.
