District 86 is a culturally diversified grade school district serving over 10,000 students in early childhood through 8th grade. The District includes 14 Elementary Schools, 4 Junior High Schools, and Early Childhood Center, a Gifted Center and an Alternative School.
All children receive instruction in the curriculum areas of language arts, mathematics, science, social science, fine arts, and physical development and health. In addition we provide bilingual education, before and after school programs, and comprehensive special services programs. We have implemented differentiated instruction in all classrooms and offer accelerated math and language arts instruction.
