Anne Arundel County Public Schools are located adjacent to the magnificent Chesapeake Bay area.   Our county is nestled between two well-known metropolitan areas; Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, D. C.  In the heart of Anne Arundel County, you will find the quaint historical city of Annapolis, Maryland’s state capital.

Anne Arundel County Public Schools provides a nurturing learning environment, which supports student achievement.  Our system has nationally recognized programs that enhance student academic achievement such as Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate (IB) Programs, and AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination).

Anne Arundel County Public Schools has approximately 74,000 students, over 5,000 teachers with 12 high schools, 19 middle schools, and 77 elementary schools.  Anne Arundel County Public Schools is the fifth largest in Maryland and one of the 50th largest school systems in the country.  Our district also has the distinction of having seven National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence and eleven Maryland Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence.
